Biography

Clarinet Factory is a quartet of exceptional clarinet players who effortlessly blend contemporary and classical music, jazz, world music, electronic music and multi-genre projects to create their own unique sound. Their classical training has enabled them to master their instruments and create music that is accessible to various audiences. Their success has been recognized with performances at WOMEX 2015 and Classical: NEXT 2019.

The group has received high praise from industry professionals, with Gerald Seligman, the respected American journalist and producer, describing them as "absolutely original, unique and great." Their music has been praised for its ability to cross borders and genres, with Jean-Claude Vantroyen from Soir stating that "the music will jinx you like a voodoo priestess and its hypnotic filter will not let go."

Clarinet Factory has also composed film music, as well as compositions for theatre and ballet performances. Their latest collaboration with VerTeDance, CORRECTION, won the most prestigious Czech award in the field of contemporary dance, the Dance Piece of the Year award in 2014. They have also won numerous other awards, including the Herald Angel Award in 2015, the Audience Award at BE FESTIVAL 2015, the Mess Festival Award 2015, and were nominated for the Total Theatre Award in 2015.

The group's performances have impressed audiences worldwide, and they have received critical acclaim from notable music publications, such as Simon Broughton from Songlines, who described them as his "favorite Czech group" after seeing them perform at Colours of Ostrava 2015. Clarinet Factory's music is genre-defying and unforgettable, making them a must-see for any lover of innovative and boundary-pushing music.
