1979 to 1984 attended the Music High School in Linz and studied clarinet at the Bruckner Conservatory under Prof. Karl M. Kubizek. 1984 Matura and at the same time, he completed the instrumental teacher training for clarinet. In June 1985 he passed his clarinet exam at the Bruckner Conservatory with distinction. 1986 – 1991 Clarinet studies with Prof. Peter Schmidl and Johann Hindler at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Diploma examination with distinction and award of the appreciation prize of the Ministry of Education. Teaching activity since 1981, since 1985 in the Upper Austrian Landesmusikschulwerk.
Since 1988 teacher for clarinet at the Bruckner Conservatory Linz. Attended master classes and further training with Sabine Meyer, Rainer Wehle, Eddie Daniels, Harry Sparnaay and Ernesto Molinari, among others, as well as studies in 1996/97 with Prof. Wolfgang Meyer at the Karlsruhe Music Academy. 1996 Sponsion to “Magister Artium” at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Since December 1997 teaching position for clarinet and didactics at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
From October 1997 to September 2004 teaching position for clarinet and didactics at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments in Music Pedagogy. In autumn 2004 habilitation in clarinet at the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz.
Artistic activities: soloist and chamber musician in the ensemble Duo Diagonal, Ensemble Clarissma, Upper Austrian wind soloists, Ensemble Octogon. Record productions and participation mainly in the following orchestras: Bruckner Orchestra Linz, Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Camerata Salzburg, Festival Sinfonietta Linz, Austrian Ensemble for New Music.
