详细介绍

After initial studies in Norway, Catherine Berg earned a prestigious "Médaille d’Or" in 1988 from the National Conservatory of Paris, France. Not resting on her laurels, she achieved the "Prix d’Excellence" two years later. In 1992, she was honored with the "Diplôme d’Etat" for her prowess as a clarinet teacher, an award given by the French Ministry of Culture.

Since 1996, Catherine has showcased her musical talent as co-principal clarinet and Eb clarinet player with Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps, the esteemed wind orchestra of the Norwegian Armed Forces.

In 2012, she elevated her reputation by performing the world premiere of Stig Nordagen's clarinet concerto, "Prillar og Halling," a composition for wind ensemble and solo clarinet.

As a co-soloist and e flat player, Catherine has had long term engagements in the Trondheim Symphonic Orchestra, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the Oslo Philharmonic. She is still regularly visiting most of the Norwegian symphonic orchestras as well as the Opera. A member of the Oslo Chamber Academy, she is a highly sought-after chamber musician, gracing stages at various festivals in Norway and abroad.

Passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians, Catherine devotes her time to teaching the clarinet at Barrat Due Musikkinstitutt. Here, she is particularly committed to fostering the growth and development of young talents, the future luminaries of the music world.

Outside of her dedication to music, Catherine pursues her passion for empowering others to reach their full potential. She is a trained and certified Gestalt Therapist and Supervisor at the Norwegian Gestalt Institute, helping individuals to enhance their personal and professional lives.
